Construction project example
Port Coogee EPS moulds
CNC profile-cut EPS moulds helped form decorative curved concrete panels for the Port Coogee marina walkway.
The work supported a relief pattern across large concrete panels designed as a landscape feature over the water.
Project overview
EPS moulds for a marina walkway feature
The Port Coogee marina walkway included nine large concrete panels designed as a landscape feature over the water.
The decorative curved feature was cast in relief to contrast with the exposed aggregate finish of the concrete. Foam Technologies supplied prefabricated EPS foam moulds for the curved pattern.
Each mould was CNC profile cut into an individual pattern spanning 4.0m x 2.7m, then coated with a polyurethane elastomer hard-coat system to help improve the mould surface finish and concrete texture.
Benefits
Why EPS moulds worked for Port Coogee
CNC profile accuracy
Individual EPS moulds were profile cut for the curved relief pattern.
Hard-coated finish
A polyurethane elastomer hard-coat helped improve the mould surface finish.
Large feature scale
Nine large concrete panels formed the marina walkway landscape feature.
